From financial records to a reviewed disclosure

Start with a source register, not a guess at the final total. For each form entry, note the document, account or institution, period, statement date and whether the figure is confirmed or estimated. Keep the original file intact and use a separate working note for explanations. Your attorney or mediator should confirm which records are relevant; a preparation checklist is not a universal filing requirement.
For Section 2.3, identify every relevant account and the balance at its statement date. A bank-statement balance is a point-in-time amount; transaction credits over a period are cash movements. Neither is automatically an annual income figure. Record closed accounts and missing statement periods for review where the form asks about accounts held during the last twelve months.
Review a CSV line by line before applying values. An own-account transfer normally needs a matching entry in the other account. Loan proceeds are money received with a corresponding obligation, not automatically earnings. Refunds may reverse earlier spending; cash deposits need an explanation of their source. Keep uncertain transactions marked unknown rather than selecting a convenient income label.
Use opening balance plus credits minus debits as a reconciliation check. For example, an explicitly fictional statement with opening R5,000, credits R55,500 and debits R17,100 closes at R43,400. Those cash totals do not establish salary or maintenance needs. A difference from the actual closing balance needs investigation — missing rows, duplicated imports, sign conventions or a partial period can all matter.
Before applying reviewed CSV values, compare them with the relevant account record and your chosen period. Do not count a transfer in both accounts as income twice or count an annual bill as a monthly bill. Check any import mapping and leave unsupported classifications unresolved. CSV review is assistance with preparation, not a determination of taxable income, legal entitlement or financial misconduct.
Upload relevant supporting records only when you choose to retain them with a saved matter. Give each a useful label such as '2.3 Current account, September statement' or '3.1 School fees, term invoice'. Both downloads place uploaded documents in a separately indexed supporting section. Review the numbered references against the disclosure; the software does not decide admissibility or replace the court's filing requirements.
